What's on my mind

A good quote from The Seven Mysteries of Life

"Our earthly life is a tentative tuning-in on a particular collection of human cells—a transcendant resonance of protein molecules with intangible awareness in an illusory space-time continuum—a harmonic, a geometric interval, a note in a song of eternal and incomprehensible mystery"

Thought for the day

from Spectrum of Consciousness by Ken Wilber
When we see through the illusion that separate things exist, we reach a level of experience wherein each "thing"-because it is in itself unreal-contains or is penetrated by all other things, an experience called hu-ju, "mutual interpenetration." Hence the universe is likened to a net of glittering gems, wherein each jewel contains the reflections of all other jewels, and its reflection in turn exists in all the other gems.

You are just a clone

A majority of quantum physicists theorize that every possibility in the universe exists and is being played out in one of trillions of potential universes. Each of these universes stands alone in that it cannot communicate with its adjacent neighbors. This also means there are trillions of potential versions of you. story link

Cool way to hear new music

Pickstation seems to be a promising venue for discovering new music instantly and voting on it in a digg-like fashion. Vote for my tracks!

What I've been up to lately

So far, this summer has been simultaneously relaxing and a bit stressful. Right after school finished, I went to New York to visit my brother. That was a lot of fun, one of the highlights was riding around downtown manhattan on a bike. Also, the spontaneous block parties were great fun. After I got back, I found a new place to live, and I recently finished moving all my crap from the old place to the new one. The new place is good except for some minor quirks like a showerhead that sounds like it's screaming bloody murder when it's on full pressure, or the constant rumble and hum of a neighbor's bathroom fan (at least that's what I think it is). In the meantime, I've been helping facilitate outdoor parties, such as an upcoming one called Illuminated Forest on August 12th. Actually, August is going to be a major outdoor festival month. I'm going to a four day Alex Grey/Bluetech/Phutureprimitive/Bassnectar event as well as Burning Man. Can't wait!
